Church Parade. Tha annual Church Parade of Friendly Societies was held on Sunday morning at the Methodist Church. The Rev. B. Dudley, in welcoming the members, eulogised tho work of tho various Lodges, and gave an address on "Friends and Friendliness," based on the words from Proverbs 17.17, "A friend lovcth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." At tho r.vening service the preacher spoko on "Tho Gospel of Kindness to Animals," in keeping -with the day being observed as Animals' Welfare Sunday, Reunion Banco. Tha success attending the first reunion dance of tbfi past-pupils of the Lyttelton District High School, which was held in the Ex celsior Hall on Saturday night, will no doubt result in it being made a regular one. It was a happy idea, and about, 200 ex-pupils of tho school, with members and ex-members of the staff, and members of the School Committee, spent a very jolly evening. The danco committee consisted of Misses It. Carson, L. Foubistor, E. McCormick. and Messrs L. Gowor and J. Parker (secretary), and they are to be congratulated on the excolleneo of the arrangements. The hall was artistically decorated in tho school colours, blue arid old gold,' and greenery. Music for the damcing was provided by Miss D. Jones's orchestta, and Messrs L. Gower and .T. Parker were M.C.'s. During the ovening Mr W. Bain and Miss E. Holdsway gave, exhibition dances, Mrs H. Reeves a banjo solo, Mr A. Couch a song, and Mr J. Partsidgo a violin solo.
