THE SOUTH AFRICANS.
10 TUB SDITOB OF TB« PBISS. lr > I am •wondering whether it would be in keeping with the best guidance in these matters if our Government could pass a resolution and send a message to South Africa relative to r« l appy termination of tbo Flag difficulty. The one way finally to incorporate the Dutch element there in our British brotherhood is to recognise their point of view equally with ours, and to show them that "fair play" is the predominant feature in the British character. It is really a great thing that has been done as between the two races, a first step towards a unification and -evolution of a new people. It will not l>e tho first time that the two races have coalesced.—Yours, etc., N.Z.N. October 29th, 1927.
