CAROLIST COUP.

GOVERNMENT'S FIRM STAND. POLICY DEFINED. (BT CABLB—PP.EBS ASSOCIATION - — CCFTSIOaT.) t"THE TTMES.") LONDON, October 27. "The Times" Bucharest corresponent says that in Parliament M. Bratinno (Prime Minister), referring to M. Manoilescu's arrest, declared that the Government was doing its utmost to resist attempts to overthrow order, which had been legally established. The Deputy Maniu protested against M. Manoilescu's imprisonment and trial by military Court, instead of a civil Court. He said that discussion on Prince Carol's attitude might be inopportune at present, but the people had the right to express an opinion thereon. Parliament did not represent the nation. The Prime Minister ought to resign to enable the dynastic question to be legally settled. M. Bratiano replied that Prince Carol's renunciation had been legalised by the Constitution, which was unalterable until the King's majority, after which Prince Carol could never occupy the throne by heredity; hence attempts to secure his return by unconstitutional methods were liable to be the subject of prosecution.
