ECONOMIC BULLETINS.
MANY TRIBUTES PAID. Appreciative reference was made at the complimentary dinner tendered to the visiting delegates to the conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce by the Canterbury Chamber to the monthly bulletins issued by the local Chamber in conjunction with the Economics Department of Canterbury College. ' The matter was referred to first or all by the president of the Canterbury Chamber (Mr C. P. Agar), who said an endeavour had been made through the bulletins to direct the thoughts of the community to those problems which had a real concern for them. Mr Wm. Machin, president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, said that a great debt was due to Professor Tocker and Canterbury College for the valuable assistance given by them in' the direction indicated. At a later stage, M. Nihotte, Consul for Belgium, told the gathering that he always read the bulletins with great interest.. Mr A. G. Lunn, on behalf of the Auckland Chamber, thanked the Canterbury Chamber for its bulletins, which, he said, were regarded as of great value bv the Auckland body. \ Mr L. B. Beale, H.M. Trade Com- ( missioner, also spoke eulogistica% of the bulletins, and stated that every ■ month he sent the bulletins to England, where they were acknowledged as being extraordinarily informative. He ; had pleasure in acknowledging tint ( they had "guided him on the right path" during his- term of office in the * Dominion. (
