A message from Juneau, Alaska, says that a aevero earthquake rocked several points of Alaska, severing the cable between Juneau and Skagway. Otherwise little damage is reported. The 'quakes followed a season of intense volcanic activity in the Aleutian Islands (West of Alaska), 20 active volcanoes being observed recently. RECORDED IN NEW YORK. (AUSiAAJJA* AND X.Z. CABLB ASSOCIATION.) NEW YORK, October 24. An earthquake, described as tremendous and the largest in years, was recorded at Fordham University this morning. It is estimated to have been 2278 miles away, possibly in Central South America. The shock was recorded by numerous other seismographs.
