CAR STOLEN.

JOYRIDERS ATTEMPT TO BURN IT. A despicable theft was carried oufc by persons unknown on Saturday night, when a Buick car, the property of Mr H. Hancock, proprietor of- the Hororata Hotel, was stolen from outside the hotel. The car was found later afe Coalgate in a battered condition, the joyriders having evidently smashed into a telegraph pole. Not content with Hi IB a sack had been soaked in petrol and ignited and thrown in the car, of which a considerable portion was burnt. The car is now in the hands of the Coalgate constable.
