MURDER.

JUDGE'S REMARKABLE COMMENTS. (by cable—mess ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AXD N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received October 23rd, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 22. Remarkable comments on the law relating to murder, suggesting that murder may be justified, were made by Mr Justice Branson when addressing a Grand) Jury at Chester on the indictment of Albert Davies, aged twentyreightj for the alleged murder of his child. "This is a heartrending story, for the father was driven to distraction by the sufferings of his child, and he takes' it upon himself to put an end thereto," said the Judge. "It gives food for thought. Had this poor child been an animal instead of a human being, then instead of this father being blameworthy he would actually have been liable to punishment had he not done it."
