NELSON DAY.
MANY WREATHS AT CATHEDRAL. Nelson Day was commemorated in Christchurch yesterday, when many wreaths were placed in front of the Cathedral. Bunting was flown from many business premises and ten v standards set outside the Cathedral, commemorated the 122 nd anniversary of the famous battle. Among the wreaths were two in remembrance of the Spaniards and the French who died at Trafalgar, and others were from the Mayor, Councillors, and citizens; from the Christchurch Guild of the British Sailors' Society, in memory of the heroes of the merchant service, 1914-18; from the. Navy League in memory of the officers and men of the Royal Navy; from the R.S.A., Women's Club, Sea Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girls' High School, Rugby Union, Veterans' Association, and Royal Mawtical-Association.
