TO THE EDtTOB Of THB PBESS. Sir -A correspondent in your paper some' time back remarked "that, an ounce of practice is worth a ton ot theory." The river - sweeper has nowcleared about three miles of the Avon (and is still going strong) in a manner which, in the writer's opinion, could not be accomplished by any other method.
