OBITUARY.
MR JOSEPH REYNOLDS. Mr Joseph Reynolds, whose death occurred at Waipara, on October 12th, was born in Cornwall, England, in 1846 Ho worked as a tin miner until 1872, when he emigrated to Queensland.' He landed in that country under a three years' contract as a miner, but owing to the ill-health of his wife, caused by the hot climate, he removed at the end of eighteen months to South Australia, where he was engaged iu gold mining for three and a half years. In 1877 he. came to New Zealand, and, settling in Christchurch, he learned the trade of a hairdresser, with a brother. Seven years later he set up on his own account in Rangiora, where he resided for many years. Eventually he returned to Christchurch, and there carried on business for a while until ill-health caused him to relinquish it. His wife having died, he went to live with his daughter, Mrs J. G. Whyte, at Waipara. He leaves a family of two sons and three daughters and twenty-two grand children to mourn their loss. »
