FOR PEACE OR WAR
AVIATION'S FUTURE. lIERR FOKKER'S ADDRESS. (BT CABLE-rRESS ASSOCIATION-COrIHIGnT.) (AUSTBALIAN AJCD W.2. CABUt ASSOCIATION.) (Received October 20th, Coo p.m.) NEW YORK, October 19. Hcrr Anthony Fokker, addressing the Netherland Chamber of Commerce, said that aviation was the cheapest and most efficient method of killing people. Bombing ' 'planes loaded with gas bombs coukl, in a city like New York, destroy millions of persons absolutely without fail. So important would aviation be as an offensive weapon in another war jiikl so great the range of 'planes, that the safest place for a man would be in the front line trenches. The man who stayed away from the front to manufacture shells and guns on war contract would be in more danger than the. man at the front. The speaker inferred that aviation was a factor for peace by reason of its very deadliness as a potential weapon of offence.
