SHIPPING NOTES. The Tofara is due on "Wednesday from Timaru to load for Wellington and New Plymouth. The Kamo, from Dunedin, Is expected here on Wednesday next to load for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. The Kahika arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Westport with a load of coal. On completing her dischaiging the vessel sailed last night for Westport. The Wingatui was dispatched from Lyttelton last evening for Wellington, Picton, and Auckland. The Katoa, from Auckland, via Picton and Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton yesterday. On completion of discharge she will load for Auckland direct, and is at present timed to sail to-morrow. The Waipiata, from Auckland via Napier. and Wellington, shou"*l arrive here to-mor-row. She will leave the same evening for Dunedin. Oamaru, and Timaru. The Kaiapoi, from Bunbury, via Hobart, Auckland, and Wellington, is expected tomorrow. The Kennedy is now expected to reach Lyttelton on Monday from Foxton. She will load here for Wellington and Foxton. The Wairau is to load at Lyttelton on Tuesday for Blenheim, also taking cargo for Havelock, Seddon, and Ward. The John is due from the north on Tuesday to load for Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Orepuki should reach Lyttelton by Tuesday from Tarakohe, via Timaru. to discharge a quantitv of cement, and then load here for Nelson. Westport, and Greymouth. The Karetu from Newcastle, via Sydney and Dunedin. is due here on Sunday to discharge/Australian cargo and tranchipments. The vessel is to sail early next week for Timaru, Oamaru, and Bluff. . The Waipori. from Westport. via Bluff, Dunedin. and Oamaru, is expected to reach Lvttelton on Sunday. The Waihemo, from San, Francisco, via Apia. Bluff, and Dunedin, is due here about Sunday. The Cygnet will arrive from Wellington, via Kaikoura. this morning. On completing her loading she will be dispatched for Kaikoura and Wellington. The Breeze, from Dunedin. vi 3 Timaru. is expected here to-morrow to load for Wellington. Picton. and Wanganui. 4 The Storm is expected to return from the south on Wednesday to load for Wellington and Wancanui. The Rimutaka, which left Wellington on September 18th, arrived at Southampton on October 19th.
The Ribera completed her discharge of Montreal cargo at Lyttelton yesterday, and ■was dispatched for Sydney. She put out her Dunedin cargo at Lyttelton. Mr J. Glasgow has been appointed chief ofllcer of the Opihi, relieving Mr J. Warcup, who is ashore on leave. Mr P. G. Mabb has joined the Kaiapoi as chief officer, Mr A. E. Rawlins having come ashore on leave. Mr P. W. Collins is joining the Maori as chief officer, temporarily relieving Mr T. S. McNieol for his holidays. . Mr J. E. Clements has signed off the Eatoa as second officer; his placo being taken by .Mr D. J. McKenzie, who has been on holiday. Mr A. P. Cousin is rejoining the Oonah as second officer, relieving Mr J. V. Bray for his holidays. A cable message from Panama has been received advising that the Port Hardy, from London, passed through the Canal on Tuesday on her way to New Zealand. She is due at Auckland on November 10th. _ Cable advice has been received stating that the Canadian Prospector arrived at Now York on her way from Auckland to Boston and Montreal early on October 17th.
