TIMARU HIGH SCHOOL.
OLD BOYS' REUNION. Many old boys of Boys' High School gathered at the annual reunion of the Christchurch branch of the Old Boys' Association held at the Caledonian Hall last night. The president of the branch, Mr R. A. Cuthbert, presided, and there were also present, Mr W. Thomas, Rector of the school, and Mr E. A. P. Cockroft, sports master at the school. Mr Cuthbert, in proposing the toast of "The School," said that State schools had played a large part in the moulding of character.
Mr W. Thomas, Rector of the school, in reply, said that Old Boys' Associations were destined to have an influence on the life of the school. The oldest old hoy was present in the person of Mr W. J. le Cren. It was good to see how the older old boys stuck to the school. It was wonderful to see in what esteem New Zealand secondary school old boys were held in England..There had been an Association formed in England •whereby old boys of Dominion secondary schools were recognised as public school boys at Home. Other toasts honoured were: "Well Boys We Won," proposed by Mr E. A. P. Cockroft and replied to by Mr E. Mathieson; "Kindred Associations," proposed by Mr F. G. Dunn and responded to by Messrs M. J. Burns ( Christ's College), J. D. Hutchinson (Otago Boys' High School), B. P. Tablev (Christchurch Boys' High School), and L. E. Palmer (Nelson College). "Eeminiscences," proposed by Messrs J. D. Lawrence, W. J. le Cren, and the Eev. S. Parr.
