FRENCH COMMUNISTS.
HEAVY SENTENCES IMPOSED. (BY CABLE—PEESB ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT) (AUSTBALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received July 26th, 7 p.m.) PAEIS, July 25. The Court of Correction sentenced the Communists charged with espionage. Six were fined 1000 to 6000 francs and sentenced to from sixteen months' to five years' imprisonment. Councillor Cromet and his secretary, who long evaded arrest were fined 100,000 francs, deprived of civic rights for five years, and sentenced to five years' solitary confinement.
