STRAND THEATRE.
TWO BIG PICTURES
Two big pictures are attracting large audiences to the Strand Theatre. "Seven Chances" features the well-known comedian Bnster Keaton. Buster had advertised for a bride, and the response was gratifying. They came by the thousand. It was not Buster's beauty that attracted: the finger of suspicion points rather to the fact that, by marrying, Buster will inherit seven million dollars. , • The supporting picture is 'T*he lee Flood," starring Viola Dana and Kenneth Harlan. Jack de Quincy, just out of Oxford, is detailed by his father to clean up the logging camps on the De Quincy timber property. The young De Quincy, an adventurous soul,. scorns the protection of his father's name, and conceals his real identity when he goes into the camps. The toughest camp of them all, ruled by "Goofy Dan" and Pete, the worst bullies of the lumber region, hear of a young- ' 'wildcat'' who has driven out the 'bootleggers and bullies in other camps. They await his arrival eagerly and scornfully. A tense climax ensues, in which Jack's life is endangered by the two ruffians, and Marie is made captive on a launch, which is caught in the river by a huge ice jam. Episode 7 of "The .Silent Flyer," a comedy, and a news film are also shown.
