In the motor-cycle races at Maroubra Speedway, Spencer Stratton (New Zealand) won the Gold Helmet, covering five miles m Smin 21 8-ssec, an average of 911 miles an hour. For the Silver Helmet Stratton -was beaten by a few lengths by v Brown, vho avcrngcd 82} miles an hour.
