According to the "Echo de Paris," the military chiefs, in compliance with M. Poincare's instructions, are preparing without' delay a definite plan of defence works on tlie northern and northeastern frontiers as a substitute for the withdrawal of the Rhineland Army. The de~pth of the defence zone will correspond • with a modern battlefield. Tlie Government will seek the necessary credits from Parliament as soon as "the plan is prepared.
