S.I.M.U. TAKES ACTION. Recently the South Island Motor Union rent a circular letter to various firms asking them to co-operate with the Union in an endeavour to stop advertising signs that tended to. dis- • figure scenic beauty. The secretary, Mr P. R- Herman, said'at last night's meeting of the committee of the Motor Union that all the replies received so far could be regarded as favourable. ' "They're with us all the way, remarked Mr H. C. Hartey. -. It was decided to form all .present into a sub-committee to take note- of the signs regarded as objectionable, and report at the next meeting.
