Yestcrdav some bright batting was witnessed at Hagley Park, when the Veterans I "red a match against an "under 15 team from the Canterbury Boys' Cricket AssociaU °Tne Veterans batted first, and were all out for 11° PD- AUsopp took four wickets, DA N Mcßae three, and A. Rimmer three. The Boys' Association- had made 212 for eieht wickets when stumps were drawn. Four „ their hatsmen, M. H. Gray, J. W Peake, A Rimmer, and B. E. Grenfell retired. The most successful bowled for the \eterans was C. Butler, who took three wickets.
1 TEAM TO PLAY OTAGO. Next Tuesday, a Canterbury Boys' Cricket Association, "under 15," team will play a match against a Combined Press Club team at Hospital Corner', at 2 p.m. The following have been selected to play lor the Boys Association :—D. COiMBINED PRESS CLUB. HATCH v. THE STAGE. The weather conditions were ideal for cricket yesterday afternoon, although bowlers found some difficulty in a strong crosswind, whe'.i a Stage team, including members o£ the Maurice Moscovitch Companv, played against a Combined Press team at Hagley Park. The teams were evenly matched, and a close game -would have resulted had time allowed the teams to play to a finish. The Stage team completed its innings for 156, and the Combined Press team made 121 for seven wicketa down. Nat Madison (37), Hawkins (34), K. Yates (27), and L. Davics (13) were the principal scorers for the Stage team, and K. Barnes (23), C. Williams (22), J. Mahoney (18), and Jackman (13) made the best performances lor tho Press cricketers. Yates (threo wickets for 4," runs), Pryor (ono for 31), Davis (ono for 1), and Harper (ono for y) wore tho successful bowkrs for the Thespians, and Thomson (five for 30), Barnes (four for 20), and Mahoney (two for 1G) took tho wickets for their opponents. Afternoon tea was provided by tho hosts. MARRIED v. SINGLE. A match was played on the Boys' League ground, Hagley Park, yesterday afternoon, between married and single members of the Combined Press Club, and after a very interesting contest tho married men won by five runs. Scores: Marriod men 83 runs (R. E. Gillespie 32, A. Adams 20, and D. Morgan 16 not out). Single men 78 (H. Neal 18, J. Almond 12, W. J. Richards 12, W. J. Rudduck 8, and C. Rogers 8). For the winners, Hood, Gillespie, and Fenimell bowled well, and Cope anil Almond were the successful bowlers for the losers.
