HORSES KILLED.

AUCKLAND, January 19.
Running about three-quarters of an hour late, the Daylight Mffiitei Express, last evening, struck a KOb of four horses when just clear of Drury Railway Station, and killed two pf them.
The train suffered no damage, and) after it was seen that the line was clear the journey was resumed. The train experienced delay at Pokene Station, when it was held up by a geods train for about half an hourSubsequent stoppages were caused at level crossings on "the route, and the train arrived at Auckland almost an hour behind scheduled time.

MR BARNES FOUND. [THB PBFBB Bp«cW BerWc4.| DIJNBPIN, January 19. Yesterday a message from Sydney was - picked up at Mastertou, stating that Mr A. A, Barnes, whq fyas somewhere in New Zealand, was urgently wanted at his home in Coogee. The message was telejeraphed through the Dominion, and Mr JBarnes was located at a Dnnedin hotel, and was able to catch the train for the north this morning.
