SWIMMING CARNIVAL.
EAST ASHBURTON CLUB. The most successful evening carnival held for some time wbs conducted by the East Ashburton Amateur Swimming Club in the East Ashburton Baths last evening. There was an attendance of over 300 people, and the finishes, which in every case were very close, reflected great credit upon tho handicapper (Mr A. W. Faton). Hambrook's Orchestra supplied a number of musical items. At the conclusion of the events Mr W. S. Kerr presented tho medals won during the evening.
