FULLER THEATRE.
FOR AUCKLAND. [THE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, January 18. Mr John. Fuller arrived to-day by the Marama. It is his intention to make arrangements for the erection of a large theatre in Auckland to replaco the Opera House, which was partially destroyed by fire in December. Mr Fuller stated that ho did not knowwhere'the proposed' theatre would be built. It was possible, he said, that the old site in Wellesley street might be used. In any case he had come to Auckland to make the fullest investigations and no decision would bo made until he had gone into the matter thoroughly. A rumour has gained currency in the city that Mr Fuller intended to negotiate with the City Council for tho purchase of the civic square, but there is no official confirmation of this.
