SEWER SERVICE.
* HOUSEHOLDERS' ARRANGEMENTS. At last night's meeting of the Christchurch Drainage Board, in reply to a question by Mr A. T. Smith, man/ Mr H. J. Otley, said that as soon as the new sewers wore ready for use, the householders would be informed, through the City Council. Mr H G. Livingstone urged thatuie ratepayers be.advised at once of the approximate date, to enable them to make their arrangements. Mr J. W. Beanlahd said the sewers would be ready, in the outlying suburbs before the City Council was able to supply water. Thus the people would not be able to use the sewers when the latter were finished. Mr Otley said there wero very few houses without a hot water supply, and where householders had this they could 'flush the. sewers themselves by making the necessary adjustments to obtain the pressure. . The engineer, Mr. J. R. Cullens, said' that four of the pumping stations would be ready before the ond of March.
