INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC IN SPAIN. (BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATI6N--COPTa«JHT.) (AUSTRALIAN ANO N.Z- CABLB v ASSOCttKOK.) MADRID, January 16. The incidence of influenza has increased alarmingly in one day. The epidemic is now the worst, ever known, and the death roll is heavy. The municipality has ordered churches, schools, theatres, cinemas, cafes, trains, trams, and buses to be vacuum-cleaned and disinfected daily.
