tLETTER WITH MONEY. [THE PRESS SjfeeUl Service,] AUCKLAND, January 17. It was stated in tho Police Court today that quite a lot of trouble was caused by Koith McAlister (21), who pleaded guilty to fraudulently stating that he posted a letter containing £ll to H. L. White, Karangahapo road, whereas ho did not do fio. Senior-Deteotivo Hammond said that accused had purchased a motorcycle from Mr White, and was in arrears with his payments. McAlister went to White and complained that ho did not receive a receipt for £ll which he said he posted. Complaint was made to the Post Office, about the nondelivery of the letter^ contaimng the money at St. Helier'a Post Office. BnSSrS made showed that the letter Sad never teen posted. "Quite a lot of trouble was caused and the officials at the Post Office came under eusnicion." said Mr Hammond He added that McAlister was a grocer's assistant, and that nothing was previously known a? The Magistrate remanded until to-morrow morning for sentence.
