MOUNT PLEASANT BURGESSES.

A general meeting of the <Mt. Pleasant Burgesses' Association held; on (Saturday evening was attended by twelve members. Mr W. R. Webb presided, and reported that the executive's efforts for better postal facilities had resulted in an afternoon delivery being made in addition to the morning one, and that tho authorities had agreed to reconsider the extension to the neighbourhood of Bollevuo terrace in a few months' time. No reply had yet been received from the Education Board to tho residents' request for a school on Mt. Pleasant, although it was understood that plans -were being prepared and tho proposal favourably recommended to the Department. The public hall project was further discussed," and action regarding this deferred for a few months. A motion recommending support for the electricity loan of £2OOO at the poll on January 19th was carried.
