ASHBURTON DEFENCE CLUB.
The Ashburlon Defence Rifle Club fired a match of seven shots each at 300 yds, 500 yds, and 600 yds on Saturday, under ideal weather conditions. D. F. Keir, who has been fairly successful in all the previous matches this season, had an easy win, his score off the rifle (98) being eight above that of E. C. Baker, who shot into second place. In future matches this season the winner will be penalised two points (or the following week's shoot.
