HIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES, ASHBURTON.

At His Majesty's Theatre, to-night and to-' morrow night, Claire Windsor, Pat O'MaL ley, and Robert Fra-zer will be starred in "Tho White Desert," an awe-inspiring and spectacular Alctro-GoldwyD picture. The film is taken from Courtney Eyley Cooper's famous novel, and adapted to the screen by Reginald Barker. This picturisation of Cooper's novel is modern in its theme, graphically describing the way in which the radio and telephone now assist pioneers in the loneliest outposts to maintain communication with civilisation. Terrifio suspense is maintained whilst parly after party of gallant men sally forth into the howling blizzard in an attempt to bring succour to the most important members of the camp—a six months old baby «uiid its- mother. As Blipports, a gazette, snapshots, cartoons, and a new Government scenic will be shown.
