MOTOR-CYCLE'S SMART TRIP. Mr £[. Lewington, of the- Carlton Mill road, has forwarded the following particulars of a trip ho recently made in a 2!-h.p. British motor-cycle:—* Our party left Christchurch on December 27th, stayed at Waimate that night, setting out for the south the next morning and spending the" same night at Dunedin. The following morning we left for Gore, remaining there f<sr two nights and leaving for Queenstown on tho Friday, arriving at the latter town on New Year's Eve. On New Year's morning wo set out from Qucenstown and slept at Kurow that night. This was the most trying day of all, the Lindis Pass being in bad condition. Waimate was reached on the Sunday, and Christchurch on Monday afternoon. We travelled over 900 miles on eight gallons of petrol without'any adjustments or replacements, over some of the worst roads in the South Island.
