Duggan, L. Duggan), 2. Final—Canterbury 1, Avon 2. At Cowlishaw's corner Avon was in the lead, but Canterbury thereafter made the pace, and won without much difficulty. MAIDEN FOUR-OAR. First heat—Union iF Duggan, E. Weir, H Booth, H. Waddell),' 1: Canterbury (Stephenson, Bacon, Hill, Moon), 2. Second. heat—Avon Xo. 1 (A. Harley, J. Lane, J. Harley, J. Brixton), 1; Avon Xo. 2 (L. Webb, H. Lenauze, G. Rushworth, A. Woodham), 2. Final—Union, 1: Avon Xo. 1, 2.

Both crews fought out the race neck and neck until near the finish, when Union went to the front and won by a length and a half.
