HIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES, ASHBURTON.

To-night only, a double bill will be presented at His Majesty's Theatre, when "Riding' the Wind" and "The Best People' will be screened. The former is a thnllniß Master production starring Fred Thompson and his wonder 'horse "Silver King," while the latter is a Paramount film, featuring Esther Ralston and Warner Bfixler, the supporting cast being Edw.ird Davis, William Austin, Larry Steers, Margaret Livingston. Joseph Striker, Margaret Morris, and Ernie Adams. "Ridin' the Wind" will be screened at the matinee this afternoon. As supports to these two pictures, f. gazette and a two-reel comedy will be shown, and Signor 'Preboni Hanson, the celebrated Danish tenor, will make his last appearance before an Ashburton audience to-night. On Monday and Tuesday nights, a thrilling aDd spectacular Metro-Gold.vyn film will ho screened, entitled "The White Desert,' featuring Claire Windsor, Pat O'Mallcy, and Robert Frazcr. This story was taken from Courtney Rylay Cooper's famous novel, and was adapted to the screen by Reginald Barker. It showß how puny is man's control o' the elements, and how at one swift blow, Nature undoes his handiwork. A fine supporting cast is also included.
