N.Z. LEAGUE TEAM.
DISSENTIENT PLAYERS. INQURY DEMANDED. (HI CABL»— FSiei 4IIOCUTIOJI-COPIBIGHI-) (AUSTRALIA* AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 14th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 13. Ihe New Zealand League footballer, Sinye, complains that the dissentients' out-of-pocket expenses were stopped live weeks'ago. "We left Harrogate at Christmas almost penniless," he said. "In Wales, the Kugby League Council was verv good, and presented us with monev to take us home. «e claim that the"best team was not played throughout the tour." Another New Zealand League plaver, X. Mouat, interviewed prior to leaving for home, declares that he has no intention of publicly defending the conduct of himself and the other dissentients, but states that they have been grossly misjudged. "Recently,, he said, "we frankly stated our case to the Rugby League Council, who are now laying the matter before the NewZealand League Council, demanding an enquiry into the conduct of the tout. Mr Osborne, chairman of the League Council, is of opinion that there is much to be said on behalf of the malcontents, and he hopes the eiu»ry win be full. New Zealand and English League circles declare that tho tour has been most disappointing, and the playeis skill below expectations. The enforcement of discipline has been most dimcult, and consequently the team has not done itself justice. Instead of a surplus of £2OOO probably there will be a deficit of iIoOU.
