TROUBLE BREWING
ITALY AND ALBANIA. FEARS OF JUGO-SLAVIA. ( 'BV CABLS—TZtESS ASSOCIATION—COPIBIGHT.) (AUSTKALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 14th, 8.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 14. "The pact recently concluded between Italy and Albania dominates the situation in the Near East to an extent not realised in Western Europe,'' snv.s Mr George Kenwick in a lengthy cable to the "Daily Chronicle" from Vienna. He foreshadows a »enous conflict in this connexion between Italy and Jugoslavia and says the first trial of strength will occur at Geneva when Italy seeks the League's approval of a pact to which Juso-Slavia will offer the strongest possible objection on the ground that it is merely a cover for eventual occupation. Mr Renwick prophesies that the demands of the two countries will assume the form of ultimata backed up by threats of withdrawal from the League.
