Moore, and L. Maginness. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £-3-1 14s 2d. The report of the overseer (Mr J. Roach) upon work during the last month was received. The tender of Mr W. C. Ski!ling,"£!S 10s, for the right lo cut cocksfoot in the Board's district, being the highest, was accepted. METHVEN. The Methvait Caledonian Society held a most successful concert in the Public j Hall on Saturday evening. The whole programme was of-a very high standard, and all the performers were greet-, ed most enthusiastically. At the close" of the concert, Mr W. J. Cooksley thanked the performers for the excellent work put in to make the function such a success, especially mentioning the accompanist. Miss Brown. To close off the concert, all performers gathered on the stage and sang "Auld • Lang Syne." The programme is as follows: Opening dance (Highland), juvenile party; songs,. Miss A: P.' The committee coa--1 sidered the revision of the show } schedule, and alterations were made as j follows:—Sheep section: It was decided j that classes for flock rams will not j count for cup points. In all flock ewe 1 classes to read four-tooth or over. Cattle section: A class for milking Shorthorns was added in this section. It was decided that in the class for j pet--heifers the entry must bo in the ! name of a juvenile. Light horses and j pony section: It was decided to delete the'class for the tandem team. The class for troop horse to be open to all comers, and the troop horse class be altered to best-nianuered hack. The ! pony trotting competition, in which riders were to be lo years of age or under, was altered to read under 15 years, and the same rule was made to apply to other ages. It was decided that stallions be not allowed to compete in classes lSu to 106. It was decided that ponies bo measured by an official before going into the judging ring.. In the draught horse section a reserve champion is to be allotted for stallions ;>iid mares. A genera! rule was added that no animal be allowed in the judging ring with prize tickets from other classes. .In the pig section, class 20,"i was altered from 12,31b live weight to SO to 1001b dead weight; class 200, two baeoners.to be from 14011) to ,1801b dead weight. Classes 207, breeding sow. and 209. breeding sow. any age, with litter or in pig, were deleted. Class 210, Berkshire . boar, was amended to read. "Suitable for'breeding pigs for export." It was decided "to judge the entries in the. newly-arranged "flock ewe" class during" the second week" in June, entries to dose at the same time as entries for the annual show. It was decided to hold a special meeting of the committee, to consider the appointment o'.' judges for the annual show on Friday. The monthly meeting of the Mt. Hutt | Road Board was held on Monday. Tito ladies' sub-connnittee appointed to revise their part of the schedule submitted a report which was adopted. • The vice-president (Mr Harrison) reported that: a deputation had waited on the Domain Board and had coiiu! to an agreement'with the. Board in regard to the use of the Domain.on i fcihowDay. The Board granted the Association the use of the- Domain for three years at an annual rental of £3 3s. The Board would allow a ring to lie erected and also an opening in the fence for the passage of stock" to and from the ring.
