(Received January 10th, 10.30 p.m.) ' SYDNEY, January 10. The wool sales were resumed, the market being firm at last week's closing rateß, with a hardening'tendency for fine sorts. The demand was general in all sections, Japanese and Americans being particularly active. FROZEN MEAT. The' New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. has received a cablegram from London giving the following market information:—New Zealand frozen meat: Lamb (average), 9}d per lb. Mutton: Wether and maiden ewe, light 6Jd per lb, heavy 6ld per lb; ewe, light 4Jd per lb, heavy 43d per lb.. The market is slow. '1 AMBERLEY MARKET. The first Amberley lamb sale was held yesterday. It was disappointng to buyers and auctioneers alike to find the market so poorly patronised. Sales were as follows:—-Ewes in small lots from 16s lOd to 18s; lambs (yarding totalled 440), 92 at 265, 12 at 24s 6d, 43 at 24s 9d, 95 at 26s 9d, 44 at 26b lOd, 61. at 25s Bd, 88 at 25s lOd, 31 at 26s Id, 18 at 27s Id. AUSTRALIAN FLOUR. MILLERS' ANXIETY. (PEEB3 ASSOCIATION" TXLEOBAM.) WELLINGTON, January 10. At the New Zealand Master Bakers' Conference held to-day, reference was made to the unrest that existed respecting the importation of Australian flour and the inability of millers to' supply, trade requirements. The increase in imported flour, it was said, would amount to £300,000, and there would be a decrease in imported wheat of 400,000 centals which would give cause for anxious thought.
