TRAFALGAR DAY EFFORT. (*aOU OUt OWN CORRESPONDENT.) LONDON", November 30. All New Zealanders who are interested Navy League, its work and its welfare—and there must be very few w|io_ are ..not—will be interested to" hear that as the result of the Trafalgar Day effort, on October 21st, the street collection aniounted .to some £720 against the £3l of a year ago. ' _This year was the first that organised effort of this kind was made. London was' divided into sixteen districts, and about 400 people were on duty, a number of New Zealanders being among .those who patrolled The Strand. It is intended now to hold a similar flag-day each- year on this anniversary. • Any money collected by the League is devoted to .the.work of.the Sea Cadets: Next month there is to be a sale of work and produce, organised so that people may buy Christmas presents. In connexion with the -sale* there will be a The" Dansant. The Hyde Park Hotel will be the centre of this activity, and the" sale will be opened by.Countess Jellicoe. . There will, be a New Zealand stall, for produce only. Lady Parr has been interesting herself on behalf of the Dominion, but as she will not be back from Paris in time, Lady Myers will take charge, assisted by Mrs An-, thony Carr (Auckland), each of whom will bring some young helpers. The ' Wellington and Auckland branches of the Navy League have generously sent money contributions —£60 in all—and some of this will be used, for the purchase of New Zealand products—butter, cheese, honey, toheroas, toheroa soup, whitebait, tongues, etc. The Dairy Produce will bo supplied by the. New Zealand Dairy, Produce Board, and will be offered at tho price of the day; other products will be obtained through the Haymarket .Stores. Doubtless there will be a good demand, for there always is on occasions such as this, when New Zealand produce is obtainable. The sale is announced as being under the patronage of the Marchioness of Linlithgow", Lady Sydenham of Combe, Lady Cowan, and the Ladies' Committee of the Navy League. .
