PERSONAL (special to the pp.ess.) GREYMOUTH, January 10. Mr Albert Williams, of Thnaru, who arrived on Tuesday to spend a holiday with relatives, died at the Grey Hospital this morning, death resulting from blood poisoning. Mr Williams was a native of Kumara and was i~> years of age. He was in business as a butcher at Brunncrton for many years and served as a borough councillor. He leaves a wife and family of eight children, who reside in Timaru, also four brothers—Frederick, Mayor of Brunnevton. Percy (Samoa), Charles (Brunnerton), and Herbert (Milton)—and four sisters—Mesdames Rutherford (Xapier), Keating (Otira), Holmes. (Wellington), and Nurse M. Williams, of the Grey Hospital.

Among the inward passengers who arrived by to-day's express were Mr and Mrs Webber and Miss Webber, and Mrs M. Tolmie (Rangiora), Mr C. Dickson (Oamaru). Mr D. Scott (Christchurch;, and Mrs McFarlane (Christchurch).

Mr G. IJ. Smart, of the Railway Department, left this morning for Oamaru, where his father is seriously ill.

Mr P. Kennedy, who has been visiting Mr and Mrs 11. D. James (Karoro), ■ left to-day for Wellington. On the occasion of her approaching marriage, Miss Helen Kilgour was met last evening by members of St. Patrick's choir at the residence of Mr and Mrs H. F. Doogan,. Buccleugh street, and presented with a dinner set. The presentation was made by the Rev. Father Long. On Friday evening Miss Kilgour was the guest at a kitchen evening, the hostess being Mr 3K. Maloney, sister in. charge of the Old People's' Home, when she was the recipient of numerous kitchen gifts. Miss Doris Petric (Wellington) is spending a holiday on the West Coast. Magistrate's Court. '"With the prevailing spell of hot weather the bathing places about Greymouth are being well patronised. The James Mine at Point Elizaboth resumed work this morning after the holidays. The other State Mines in the .Eunanga district resumed operations on Wednesday last. .. . After the Holidays. Quite *• large : fleet of cars with touring parties returning to their homes ha,s. passed through Greymouth during the t>ast two days. There was also a largo'exodus of holiday visitors by to-day's outward express. The various local commercial offices reopened this morning, and business as usual has been resumed after' the holidays. ■
