DRAINAGE BOARD.
NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES. CLOSE ON WEDNESDAY. Apparently, only one district ia likely to see a contest in the election of members for the ChristcEurch Drainage Board, this being Woolston, where the Labour Party is likely to nominate a candidate against Mr D. Rowse, the sitting member. The roll, and also the nominations will close at noon on tne 12th, and the election will take place on January 2oth. All residents other than ratepayers and freeholders must claim enrolment before the closing of the roll. Several nominations were received on Saturday morning, leaving only one district, Avon, without a candidate so far. It is practically certain, however, that fo r this district Mr W. J. "Walter will again be nominated. The full list is as follows: North-west, Mr S. C. Bingham. "North-east, Mr "W. 11. Carey. South-west, Mr C. S. McCully. South-east, Mr H. G. Livingstone. St. Albans, Mr J. AV. Bcanland. Linwood, Mr H. J. Otley. Woolston, Mr D. Rowse. Sydenham, Mr A\ r . C. Lar^e. Spreydon, Mr A. T. Smith. Riccarton, Mr K. H. S. Hamilton. Heathcote, Mr H. Hill.
