BOATING FATALITY.
INQUEST CONCLUDED. An inquest into the death of Ronald Eden, the victim of the Sumner boating tragedy, was held at the Magistrate's. Court on-Thursday morning before the Coroner, Mr H. P. La wry. ; Evidence as to how the boat set out from the boat shelter, and was capsized was given. It was stated that the boat was swamped, and two of the occupants, Eden and another boy, were washed off the deck. " . ■
, The other boy managed to get to the boat again,, and thought tliat Eden was following, but when he managed to get on to the • boat he found that Eden was in difficulties/. Immediately another youth dived off the boat, but was seized with cramp and was saved by one of the men from the Surf Club. Eden was riot seen again until his body .was found at about six o'clock. The Coroner returned a verdict tliat Eden was drowned at Sumuer as the result of a boating accident.
