MILITARY CAMPS.

! J DEFENCE DEPARTMENT'S PROGRAMME, Military training camps will be held shortly for very large numbers of officers and n.c.o.'s of the senior cadets. On January loth, the advance party for the night parading senior cadets will proceed to Burnham. It will ho followed 011 the 18th by the main body, which will be 500 strong, and will be drawn from the whole of the South Island. The training will be supervised by Colonel N. W. Thorns, and will occupy eight days, The officers and n.c.o.'s will be given refresher courses in infantry and musketry drill, physical, and recreational training, and elementary tactics. When they leave camp on January 2oth, the secondary school cadets will replace them. They will also be drawn from the whole of the South Island and will number about 500. This body will leave camp on February Ist. In addition, the Southern Depot of the New Zealand Medical Corps, approximately 150 strong will go into camt) at the Addington trotting ground on January loth, under Major J. F Borne. Its training will occupy eight davs
