FOR PROTECTION WITHOUT INCREASED RATES, VOTE—DALLEY, WINSOR, and SULLIVAN. 5337 WAIMAKARIRI RIVER TRUST. AT the request of a large number of ratepayers of the East Sub-District of tho Waimakariri River Trust, I have consented to stand for election on Tuesday, the lllh. Something must be donC to improve the liver's course. I am against spending a large sum of money 011 what may not be an improvement, without having the best advice procurable, anil I believe that if obstructions were removed it would materially reduce the danger. 1 am against the scares and propaganda that have been engineered. I believe it would be better to buy some of the land than to try and protect it at many times the cost of purchase. If elected, I will do my best to seo both sides of the river protected, as well as the pockets of the ratepayers. GEORGE WITTY, = 117 • "Avonhead."
