NEW SHIPPING SERVICE.
NEW ZEALAND TO BENEFIT. Several Important changes occurred to shipping services during the year, the most notable being the sale of the Oceanic Line to the Hstson Navigation Company of San Francisco, and the inauguration of the combined passenger cervices between Australia and the United Kingdom, of the White Star, Blue Funnel, and Aberdeen linea (states "Shipping and Commerce of Australia") reviewing 1926. Eleven steamers will be engaged, and the three companies concerned will maintain a freqtjent first-class passenger service, with intermediate sailings of cabin class ships between. Australia and the United Kingdom. First-class accommodation will be provided -by the Blue Funnel and Aberdeen liners, and ..the White Star vessels will have cabin accommodation at moderate fares. The new operators will maintain the service that existed previously, and no alteration in the running of the Oceanic steamers is contemplated at present. After lapse of some years the New Zealand Shipping Company have recommenced a .regular monthly service from East Canadian ports direct to Australia. This lino also coducts a monthly service from that, centre to New Zealand. The Canadian Merchant Marine, Ltd., carry on a three-weekly service from Montreal. to Australia, and a separate service to New Zealand, loading cargo back to New York, Boston, and East Canadian ports. In August a new line of cargo steamers the trade between New York and ,! tr 2 hs - . They 818 "Porated by the Roosevelt Steamship Company on behalf of tho United States Shipping Board. Operating vessels for the United States Shipping Board, Bwayno and Hoyt, of San Francisco, are to inaugurate monthly services from the Pacific Coast of North America to New Zealand and Australia. The steamers will come to Auckland. Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney, and J" B ™™}" loading at Australian ports Philippines and Hong Kong, then returning to the Pacific Coast.
