NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The annual meeting of the Hawarden A. and F. Association will be held in the Hawarden Ball next Saturday night. The annual meeting of the members of the Court Thistle of the Forest, No. 6493, A.0.F., Sydenham, will be held on Tuesday. The Woolston Band will play in Victoria square to-morrow night. In this issue the Railway Department advertises particulars regarding cheap fares and train arrangements in connexion with the Ashburton Race Meeting on January 15th. On account of repairs having to be carried out to the Waiau bridge, at Parnassus, the Railway Department advertises in this issue, the hours between which the bridge will bo closed to all traffic.
Dr. Bradshaw will hold a tiial of boys' voices, at the Cathedral on February Ist, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of selecting boys to fill two or more vacant choristerships. An advertisement in this issue notifies that entries for the next examinations in accordance with the regulations issued under Section 16 o£ the Engineers' Registration Act, 1924, close on January 31st.
