CAR CAPSIZES.

SURVEYOR BADLY INJURED. [THE PBESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, January 6. A serious motor accident occurred two miles from Putaruru early yesterday afternoon, and as a result Mr Roland Hooten, surveyor, of Auckland, who is employed on afforestation work* at Putaruru, sustained serious injuries to his spine. Hooten, who was recently married, had just left Putaruru and was teaching his wife to drive alone the flat stretch when the car struck a bank and capsized. Hooten was thrown through the windscreen, but Mrs Hooten escaped with bruises and shock.

The hood, running board, and mudguards of the car were badly damaged. Hooten was brought back to Putaruru for medical attention and_ was conveyed to the Hamilton Hospital.
