MAGISTERIAL. THURSDAY. (Before ilr H. P. Lawry, S.M.) Cecil Geoffrey Turnbull, aged 20 ycarß, was charged that he did steal, on July. 15th, 1926, at Masterton, a 6uit of clothes valued at £lO, the property of Charles Pharazyn, and also with the theft of a gramophone, valued at ill' 10s, the properly of Arthur John Berryman, of Palmerston North, on or about November, 1926. Accused asked for a remand to Palmerston North and Masterton, but Chief-Detective Lewis objected. He said he did not think accused should be sent all over the country at the country's expense when ho could be dealt with here.
It was decided that the case bo remanded until Monday, to allow the police to make enquiries.
