The wool sales reopened with prices firm for all descriptions at the closing rates of the old year. There was good general competition, chiefly from Japan, Germany, and Yorkshire. Comebacks and crossbreds rule slightly in the sellers' favour. Greasy crossbreds touched 27d a lb. .
