McNicol, of Dannevirke, who is visiting Palmerston North for the local bowling tournament, had a substantia] sum of money stolen from his clothes in a hotel at an early hour this morning. Mr McNicol heard some person moving about in his room at 2 o'clock. Later he discovered his loss.
