MANY SHARKS.

IN GOLLAN'S BAY. The waters round Lyttelton Harbour and the coast-line generally are said to be infested with schools of sharks, and bathers are warned not to venture too far out.

A' big catch of sharks was landed during the week-end by Messrs D. Fabian and W. Heward, who were fishing in Gollan's Bay. Included in their catch were over 30 sharks of various sizes, the largest measuring 7ft 4in. This was hooked on an ordinary codline and put up a desperate fight for an hour and a half.'
