BOY'S BODY RECOVERED

DUNEDIN, Januasy 3

The body of Roy Simpson, aged eighteen, who was drowned when a yacht capsized near Broad Bay last Tuesday evening, was recovered yesterday near where the fatality took place. An inquest was held in the afternoon. , Victor Hodge, who was with tne boy when the accident occurred, said their boat capsized just off Grassy Point. They were thrown into the water and when they attempted to cling to it the boat sank. The only thing for them to do was to strike out for the shore. They were', fully clothed, and also wore overcoats. They reached a sandbank where the water was up to their necks, but they wero washed off. They swam in the direction of the shore again, but when witness looked back he saw Simpson being carried down the harbour. Tins was the last he saw of him. The Coroner returned a verdict of accidental drowning, and expressed his svmpathy with the parents.
