ELDERLY MAN COLLAPSES.
(THE PRESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, January 3. Francis Edmonds, a taxi proprietor, aged 60, collapsed in Queen street yesterday. He died while being taken to the hospital. An inquest was opened this morning, when evidence was given by Annie Young to the effect that Edmonds had lived with her and her husband at 4 Rusking street, Parnell, for ten years. Witness last saw him alive at s.io a.m. yesterday, when he-left home to take his dog for a swim. A post-mortem examination wall ra held.
